FORGOTTEN Pirate Jason Doyle is back on a bike again after almost a year out injured and is targeting a dramatic Poole comeback next season. Doyle aggravated a shoulder injury in a spill at Newport in March and missed the rest of the 2009 British campaign. He returned to his Newcastle, New South Wales, home in Australia soon afterwards to undergo operations and recover.

I’d love to ride for Poole again, but I want to get fit for myself and get back over to Britain. I don’t want to be worried about a team place.   -Jason Doyle

The Nationals learned tonight that the knee injury suffered by Stephen Strasburg will not require surgery to repair . It's instead been diagnosed as a dislocated knee cap. As painful as that sounds, there's no ligament damage and the Nats' phenom will only require rest and some rehab to get the knee back up to full strength, though he'll still miss Saturday's Arizona Fall League championship game.

Joe Mays was once given the chance to start for the Eagles at middle linebacker, but he couldn't lock up the position. After Stewart Bradley tore his anterior-cruciate ligament in training camp, Mays appeared to be next in line for the position, but he lost out to Omar Gaither. Now that Gaither is out with a knee injury, and Akeem Jordan may be out for the second straight week with a hyperextended knee, it appears Mays will get another chance.

We'll have different combinations based on the situation   -Sean McDermott
